dedicated to perpertuate traditional Hawaiian art forms while setting new and unique dance
standards by blending Pacific and Asian themes with Western contemporary theatrical
disciplines.

Since 1992, Tau Dance Theatre has successfully provided educational outreach
performing arts activities to local, national and international institutions. Showcasing
Hawai’i as its artistic birthplace, Tau Dance Theatre continues to tour and mesmerize diverse
audiences around the world with its vibrant and eclectic dance performances that are lightly
laced with some elements of serious social statements and weaved in with beautiful narrative
Asian/Pacific mythology and ancient stories.
“The respect for nature and spirituality, the honoring of positive aspects of ethnic diversity
and cultures, along with the teachings of our native ancestors continuously inspire me to
always create new choreograhies of intricate fusion of ancient and modern dances. It is our
hope that our audiences will always come away with a sense of joy, wonder, and reverence
for our human capacity for artistic exploration”, says Peter Espiritu, founder of Tau Dance
Theatre.

16th Tau Dance Theatre anniversary event and for additional performing arts programs for
disadvantaged youth in the state of Hawaii. For more information, please contact Leni Knight at
